Is the solution I found documented in the docs for this board? I've rummaged through a lot trying to understand ad seek answers to this problem and found none in the intel docs telling me to use the port with the 2 USBs if you will need to access the BMC over lan.

I just installed the BIOS updates, luckily my experience wasn't as bad as Anton's.

However, I'm finding that I'm getting even more pixelization in Windows Media Center - it's now unwatchable

What are the next steps to get this working?

DH67CL recovery bios

I'm trying update bios because I have new CPU (3rd Gen i3770)

But my board's Intel(R) Manegement Engine Version is 7.x. It says 3rd Gen CPU is working on 8.x / I checked on BIOS setup menu

I follow the recovery bios manual (readme file) step by step.

CD - only ***.bio file in there

pull out recovery jumper

power on

and then I can see only black blank screen.

30 min. later, It still show only black without any text

Is it necessary "bootable" CD or USB?

How can I update to Intel ME 8.x from 7.x?

Hi,

while I tried to upgrade to the new bios 0039, my NUC (DC3217IYE) died!!!

Here is what happened:

After executing the file GKPPT10H.86A.0039.EB.EXE on Windows 8, the NUC restarted and got stuck displaying a message, that it's entering the boot-loader (as far as I can remember). I waited for over one hour, but the NUC showed no further reaction. After that, i restarted it manually. Now my NUC won't display the bios. There is no HDMI-signal! When I try to turn it on, the blue power led goes on for a few seconds and then goes off. Like I said before there is no video signal on both hdmi-ports.

I tried to reset the bios using the jumper on the board, I also removed the ssd to see what happens. It's still the same situation.

With the last bios update (to 0036) every went fine. The NUC had no problems upgrading to version 0036.

What now? Please help.

***UPDATE*** I solved the problem using the bios recovery mode: copy the new bios (.bio) to a FAT-formated usb flash, remove the motherboard jumper, make sure there are no other usb-devices connected, power on the NUC and wait for 10 min, turn it off, reinstall the jumper to it's normal position and everything should be ok now.

According to the information provided this issue could be caused by many reasons, like corruption in the wireless driver, corruption in the profile itself, and even the version of your wireless driver. So what I would recommend is downloading the latest Intel® PROSet wireless driver and creating a new profile in that same system and try one more time. If you continue to have the same issue, could you please provide more detailed information so we can better isolate your problem?

It seems to me like the power supply could be the culprit.

Try with a different power supply that is higher wattage. The Clicking noise on the hard drives mean a bad head or lack of power.

Hello Colin, before you try the update, there is another step that might help. Please go to the boot tab and find the option called expansion card text and enable it, this will sometimes allows the RAID cards to be recognized.

Hello Marcio, the difference is that at a BIOS level, the motherboard, processor and peripherals are working at their full potential. When the motherboard is in the operating system, it will lower the frequencies to lower the power consumption when it is not required. In your case, the operating system is very basic and the users are not demanding much usage. If you measure the power when the computer is running a heavy application, you will see similar power consumption that in BIOS

Well first thing first HubCore, please correct this, Hyper V function can only be use in Win 8 64 Bit pro. So if you want that function to work you have to install Win8 64 Bit Pro. After installing the OS you can enable it from Windows Features (for enabling it properly google the procedure).

So for laptop your current one Toshiba , it is also ok. you just need to change the OS to Win 8 x64.

The only difference is that core2quad has 4 physical cores & core2duo has 2. So if you are running more then 2 parallel process then core2quad is better.

As for your mbd first BIOS release was on 2007. So its better to update you BIOS first to the latest one i.e 0071. See if your problem remains same . If it is then change the OS.

As far as my exp RAM is not creating this issue. But if you still want to confirm than use different model, Just make sure.

Hi,

i bought a i7-3770K. It's a great CPU however when i need to convert a video we made at work, temperature rises at least to 76 degrees celsius...when i saw that i prefered to stop the convertion. Fan and cooler are from the original box i got with CPU. Mother board sensor (asus P8Z77-V) warns when temperature is higher than 70 degrees celsius.

When CPU temperature is 76 degrees, fan turns at 2200 rpm.

Please could you tell me what is the normal and maximum temperature this CPU accepts in order to not burn my CPU ?

You are wrong regarding this point.

INF files are just information text files and no real drivers. None of the INF files, which are within the Intel(R) INF Update Utility (commonly named Intel Chipset "Drivers"), is able to replace the generic MS AHCI driver. The only thing which may happen is, that the Intel SATA AHCI Controller will be renamed by the INF file. You can easily verify that by opening the "Driver Details" of the Intel SATA Controller.

Only a real Intel AHCI driver named iaStor.sys or iaStorA.sys is able to replace the generic MS AHCI driver named msahci.sys (Win7) or storahci.sys (Win8).

I have a Centrino Advanced N6235. I was looking through my Programs & Features list, and I found two different PROSet softwares from Intel and I'm not sure about the duplication.

The first one is "Intel PROSet/Wireless for Bluetooth + High Speed" (v15.5.5.0480, 3.88MB) and the second is "Intel PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth Technology" (v2.6.1210.0278, 90MB). Can I know which exactly is the one I need and which is redundant? It'll be silly to think there are two separate software to do the same function.
