Re: DZ77BH-55K Bios update 0097; CPU HOT

But remember back in post 4 of your thread I had already said I had flashed from 0057 right to 0097 using the Recovery method and so you know it can work.

Foe me, I specifically left the 0057 bios that comes with this MB default just as it was, using the internal i7 HD4000. No external video card yet and nothing in any of the pcie slots whatsoever.  Also memory was simple Corsair Vengeance  2X4 GB and even though they are 1600mHz, as you know the bios will default all of them @ 1333 and that's where I left it, to flash! ...everything was left completely stock default before I flashed.

I agree yes, we shouldn't have to go to those lengths to have it take, but for me and my $ and time, and after reading every post in the world almost as to who had the best success rate with wihcih method, and so with my combination of  i7-3770K & DZ77BH-55K (what better intel match is there than that)  ...and thankfully with two of these MB's, each one was a quick and successful flash.

Afterwards is when I set my Memory up to 1600 and then plugged in my GeForce GTX 650 video card.

You can bet if and when I flash it again to the latest 0099 or beyond, I will remove the video card defaulting back to the internal HD4000 again (which is pretty dam good all by itself) ..and also Will Specifically set the Bios back to Default, everything! ..and also unplug anything that's in any of the pcie slots - and then flash.  Hopefully that will work out fine again for me, but at the moment I see no need to update just to go from 0097 to 0099 when everything is working fine as it is.

These i7 rigs are so fast btw, there is absolutely no need to overclock anything! ..imho

I see you said you had ATI FireGL's that had problems, I used nVidia too, well it was EVGA but close same.

I know it, compatibility list is 0057, I guess it's a good disclaimer move.  My 0057 worked fine, but there was no way I was not going to bring it forward since there were almost a dozen updates.  It seems all the major companies use the masses as a beta test and then update the problems as they go along, sigh, but they most all do that.

There was a lot that was changed since 0057 if that's what you're asking..

..a lot of stuff.

About the new Visual Bios gui though, I'm perhaps a little old fashion in that I may look through the fancies of it, but always go back to the Classic mode when I make changes, and then save it from the classic mode, for best results, imho.  I'm pretty sure the times I used the Visual Bios to change and Save settings from it, it didn't work as expected; besides after so many years I'm used to and prefer the Classic Mode. The only thing I find helpful on the Visual Mode is when changing the settings on the Memory where it does in unison appropriately on all its settings, automatically. I believe the Processor overclock slider does the same thing, but as mentioned there is no need to overclock an i7, imvho.
