Michael, I found additional information on this.
BOOTUTIL is specifically designed to work with adapters and not LOM’s (LAN on motherboards) , however the utility may work as well.
You are free to try it, but this utility have not been validated on LOMs by us.
If for any chance the system stops performing as it should or displays strange behavior I would recommend you not use BOOTUTIL on those products.
