It refuses to work on my machine as well - I have a Z87 mobo with i7-4770K and it is connected with a DVI-D cable to my Dell U2713HM, and when I try vacaloca's linked manual configuration using 2560x1440 @60Hz + 8bits/underscan 0%/timing GTF, the driver pops up a box saying:
Intel(R) HD Graphics Control Panel
The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity.
I tried varying the color depth (there is no 24-bit listed?) and the timing dropdown with nothing working. If I reduce the refresh to 30Hz with 16-bit color it lets me add the custom resolution, but even that took... I don't know: waiting? twiddling lots of controls? Several minutes before it showed up as an option.
This is after installing the driver from Gigabyte's website (mb_driver_vga_intel_64_8series.msi) because before that Windows thought 1024x768 was the max resolution! I'd also installed Dell's drivers.
If I look at the Screen Resolution... > Advanced Settings, it says "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600". Then I click [List All Modes] it says that 1920x1080@60Hz@TrueColor is the maximum it supports!? Also says:
1696MB total available graphics memory
64MB Dedicated Video Memory
What did you guys do??
If an Intel Graphics report would help, let me know how to do it.
Thanks!
