Re: How to fix Windows 8 Boot Issues on Intel DQ45CB motherboard?

Hi Mike,

I tried updating the bios using the usb boot disk method with limited success. I was able to get to BIOS version 0079.

I noted that my intel management firmware was reporting version 0.0.0.0. Another post suggested that this meant the management firmware had failed to update in a previous attempt.

I tried the recovery method and my DQ45CB mother board is now at version 0133. I believe the management firmware is successfully loaded now. Windows 8 will boot from my ssd so this issue is resolved for now.

I would like to note to all who find this post that when using the recovery mode as directed, I also removed the PCI-E video card and every cable from the back connectors except the USB Boot device and one DVI monitor plugged into the white connector.

The usb boot device was connected to the first usb port closest to the white DVI connector.

I'm not sure if any of this is important but I was not able to access recovery mode on prior attempts when these other things were connected.

Kind Regards,

Mr Kim Anthony Groves.
